Trinidad Trails & Greenways Master Plan
Location: Trinidad, CO
Client: City of Trinidad
Status: Complete
Timeframe: Fall 2014-Spring 2015
The primary objective of this project was to inventory the miles of informal trails surrounding Trinidad and reconcile those with parcel data to create a tool for the City to use for future trail prioritization and development. As the City did not have GIS software, we created a set of Microsoft Access databases that allowed the City to prioritize trail projects based on a variety of criteria, as well as identify private properties (along with owner information) that the trail project would impact. Prioritization criteria included number of impacted landowners, recreational opportunity type/number, length/cost of trail, points of interest, funding opportunities, and links to existing trails.
